The Iconfactory: Quality Freeware Icons For Your MacThese guys keep doing the most fabulous work. And one of the neato things they do is put these wonderfully whimsical animations in their header. Here's one of my favorites EVER that I just ran into today:
'Watch What I Do, Not What I Say' Holds True for Web Surfing and Other Pursuits More voices joining the contextual-inquiry speedwagon. (And a pretty deft example of successful press-release writing!)
The Bondage of Poverty That Produces Chocolate From the department of diminished moral expectations . . . In Britain, groups have tried to organize a consumer boycott of chocolate. And in Washington, the House passed a bill that proposed a voluntary labeling system identifying the origin of the cocoa in chocolate. The label would read "No child slave labor." ::thursday, july 26:: eBay item 1617953576 (Ends Jul-27-01 15:16:06 PDT ) - Autograph Fantasy Island Seaplane aircraft The sea plane from Fantasy Island, autographed by Ricardo Montalban himself. Who wants to bid with me? It's only up to $251K at the moment. ::wednesday, july 25:: Urban Legends Reference Pages: Bra Burning a Myth So they didn't actually BURN them....hmmmm.....
Fisher Price Little People um... dioramas? This is creepy, but cute. No, mostly just creepy. Gray sent me this... he's a font of such wack and needs his own blog... :-) ::tuesday, july 24:: ABCNEWS.com : Pulitzer Prize Winner Welty Dies Genius, true and pure. We're poorer without her. ::wednesday, july 18:: Hotmail's Face-Lift Hints of Hailstorm Microsoft is essentially going to war against AOL by making more usable, truly integrated services. Say what you like about MS... if they win the war based on those issues, they'll deserve the spoils.
Bionic pants. ::tuesday, july 17:: haven't been digging much yet, but so far it looks very pretty. ::monday, july 16:: Very nifty collection of cover art for War of the Worlds, from its various incarnations over the years. Excellent archive, and lots of associated images and info. ::friday, july 13:: But as click-through rates have declined, sites dependent on advertising have taken it on the chin. Now CBS MarketWatch is looking to try something different. Starting this week, the dot-com said it would no longer automatically provide click-through data to its advertisers. Instead, the company is asking advertisers to reevaluate why and how they work on the Web and examine other performance metrics, such as brand or product awareness or post-viewing measurements.
ummm... this is amazing. ::wednesday, july 11:: Haven't heard anybody talking about the fact that this is coming on DVD.... but they should be!! I guess the release of SW Episode 1 is getting all the October release attention...yawn. ::tuesday, july 10:: An almost monk-like precision with typfaces, except that it's tiny bitmapped fonts for Palm OS. ::sunday, july 8::

The Brunching Shuttlecocks -- Comedy with a "Runch" Not mere comedy, but a pretty smart commentary on lots of stuff, most of which needs a good thrashing.
