::thursday, december 21:: Quake 3 Arena 1.27 beta update, Team Arena demo out it's about time. too bad I erased Quake off my drive this week. hehe. (too much actual life to live, work to do, etc. gotta get back to reality for a while). But maybe come March? Gotta have something to do during Lent. :-)
The Iconfactory: Quality Freeware Icons For Your Mac Talos at IconFactory does it again: some really fantastic icon sets he just put up called "Superdeformed Ultraman". ::wednesday, december 20:: Why Iraq's buying up Sony PlayStation 2s Hey, it's not just fun and games anymore. This is not a joke...take this seriously. ::tuesday, december 19:: I gotta start sending Weinberger more substantive stuff if he's going to keep mentioning it in his newsletter. This JOHO's a stitch. Lots of election-oriented rant-goodness. ::monday, december 18:: Neato source for fabulous collectible toys and figures. Thanks for the link, Talos (one of the pixel wizards at IconFactory). ::friday, december 15:: Study shows women outnumber men in online gaming ::monday, december 11:: Crawford Long Hospital of Emory University Today is my birthday. 33 years of Drew. (Well, Drew v1.0 was named "Andy") Just for kicks, here's a link to the website for the hospital in which I was born. Old hospital too. Right next to what is now Olympic Stadium or something or other. I'm way behind on my Atlanta geography.
Mitchell Gold Store: Product: 'Dot.Com Chair (Parfait Fabric)' Mitchell Gold makes lovely furniture. I just wish they'd do something like this with their Metro Recliner (check their product catalog, or Restoration Hardware's for an example of the Metro... ooooh....) ::wednesday, december 6:: A profound object-lesson on teamwork. Build your own um...organically powered matchstick airplane. (link from Derek)
Kevin Mitnick's Personal Effects For Auction Hey, if they guy can't make money cracking corporate mainframes, why not hook up with a little jack selling your crap to people with nothing better to do with their money? Oooh, the ham radio looks like a steal!
Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon I keep seeing Chinese B-movie physical logic being integrated as stylistic flourish into mainstream movies. The Matrix was probably the first to do this without irony. Charlie's Angels (which I saw last night and really enjoyed, funny wacky stuff, though Drew Barrymore is just plain limp), and others. Now Ang Lee is going all the way, making an ersatz Chinese Kung Fu movie, but with art-house sensibilities, and Woo-like grandeur. Can't wait. ::monday, december 4:: from Wendell Berry's The Mad Farmer Liberation Front
